We were blessed with fine sunny weather for a week, helping the grounds dry out and making it possible for us to run our annual School Cross Country event on an idyllic day.
Here is Nikau’s Weather Report written in the morning of 24th August
‘Today Nikau is here to report the news. In Orakei it is very sunny and good for Cross Country. There’s some breeze but there is no trace of rain at all. God chose this day to be sunny.’
Congratulations St Joseph’s students for your excellent effort and participation in our annual Cross Country event. It was great to see your perseverance and determination to keep going and do your best. We are proud of the way you encouraged each other in your cheering, and guiding and supporting younger students to complete their circuit.
Thank you to all the parents and staff, who helped with running the event, recording results, handing out place cards, and acting as marshals around the course. It was a great team effort and your help is greatly appreciated. We had a fantastic turn out of parents and grandparents, it really makes this event a celebration when so many of you come. It goes without saying the children appreciate your support and applause.
